Ingredients You’ll Need

  • chicken – any type of cooked chicken will work in this recipe. You can use rotisserie chicken or any leftover chicken you have in your fridge. My air fryer chicken breast recipe works great to quickly cook some boneless skinless chicken breasts or try these baked chicken tenders for a crunchy twist.
  • lettuce – I love sticking with classic romaine lettuce for these Caesar wraps, but you could use any type of leafy greens.
  • panko breadcrumbs – these add the BEST crispy texture and are toasted to add even more crunch to every bite!
  • roasted red peppers – adds a subtle sweetness, pop of color and so much extra flavor to these wraps.
  • avocado – adds some creaminess and healthy fats to these wraps that balances all the textures out.
  • Caesar dressing – you’ll love this homemade Caesar dressing made healthier with Greek yogurt, but feel free to use a store-bought light Caesar dressing if you prefer.
  • parmesan cheese – freshly-grated parmesan cheese is the perfect way to finish off these wraps, just make sure to use a good quality cheese for the best flavor.
  • salt + pepper – needed to season and add flavor to these chicken Caesar wraps.
  • tortillas – I used 4 large (10-inch) whole wheat tortillas for this recipe (burrito-sized tortilla), but feel free to use your wrap of choice or even a low-carb tortilla or lettuce wrap.

How to Make Chicken Caesar Wraps

  1. Toast the breadcrumbs. Heat olive oil in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the panko breadcrumbs and toast for 3-5 minutes, stirring often, until golden and crispy. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Make the Caesar dressing. In a blender or medium bowl, combine Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, parmesan cheese, salt and black pepper. Blend or whisk until smooth. Add water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dressing reaches your desired consistency.
  3. Mix the filling. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, romaine lettuce, roasted red peppers, avocado, Caesar dressing, and parmesan cheese. Toss everything together until evenly coated. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  4. Add the crunch. Right before assembling, gently fold in the toasted panko bread crumbs (or crunchy croutons) into the salad mixture so they stay nice and crispy.
  5. Assemble the wraps. Warm the tortillas slightly to make them easier to roll. Divide the chicken Caesar mixture evenly between the tortillas. Wrap tightly like a burrito, slice in half, and serve immediately.

Tips for the BEST Chicken Caesar Wraps

  • Don’t skip the panko – this is what sets these wraps apart from basic chicken Caesar wraps and adds the perfect crunch with every bite!
  • Add breadcrumbs last – this keeps the toasted breadcrumbs from getting soggy and keeps that nice crunch throughout the wrap.
  • Use warm tortillas – I recommend warming the tortillas up for a few seconds in the microwave making them more pliable to prevent the whole wheat wraps from tearing. This makes wrapping everything easier.
  • Chop everything evenly – this helps every bite have the perfect balance of flavor and ingredients.
  • Don’t overdress the wraps – start with less dressing to really let all the components of this wrap to shine and add more dressing, as needed.

Variations and Substitutions

  • Swap the protein – try grilled shrimp, salmon or even crispy chickpeas for a vegetarian option.
  • Make them low-carb – use lettuce wraps in place of the tortillas for a lighter, lower carb option.
  • Make them gluten-free – swap out the flour tortilla with a certified gluten-free wrap and make sure to use GF breadcrumbs.
  • Add bacon – this adds a delicious smoky flavor, extra protein and even more crunch to these wraps.
  • Switch up the greens – swap out the romaine for heartier, nutrient-dense kale or even a spinach or spring mix. I love a crunchy lettuce!
  • Add extra veggies – try adding in extra crisp veggies such as cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, or shredded carrots for a boost of nutrition and added color.
  • Flavor variations – toss the chicken in buffalo sauce, add corn, black beans and a squeeze of lime for a southwest-style wrap, or throw in some cucumbers, tomatoes and a light yogurt dressing for a Mediterranean twist.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make these wraps ahead of time?

Yes! For the best texture, prepare the filling and dressing ahead of time but wait to assemble the wraps until you’re ready to eat. This keeps the tortillas from becoming soggy.

How long do chicken Caesar wraps last?

The filling will stay fresh in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Once assembled, the wraps are best enjoyed within 24 hours.

Can I use rotisserie chicken?

Absolutely! Rotisserie chicken is one of the easiest and most flavorful shortcuts for this recipe.

Can I use store-bought Caesar dressing?

Yes. While the homemade Greek yogurt Caesar dressing is lighter and fresher, your favorite bottled Caesar dressing works in a pinch.

How do I keep the wraps from getting soggy?

Keep the creamy dressing separate until serving if meal prepping, and fold in the toasted breadcrumbs just before assembling.

Prepping and Storage

  • To Prep – prepare the chicken Caesar filling ahead of time, but store the panko separately to keep it crispy. The homemade Caesar dressing will last up to 5 days stored in the fridge so I like to make extra dressing to keep on hand. Such a great meal prep idea for an easy lunch!
  • To Store – keep the Caesar mixture in a sealed, airtight container for up to 2 to 3 days in the refrigerator. Assemble just before eating to avoid soggy tortillas and to keep the wraps fresh.
