This Fall Harvest Sangria is the perfect seasonal cocktail made with your favorite white wine, apple cider and bursting with crisp apples, pears, citrus, and warm cinnamon sticks!

Okay so who LOVES sangria?!  Yes this is seriously my all-time favorite fall cocktail because you can easily make it ahead of time, it always looks so pretty tossed together in a big pitcher and the longer it sits the better it tastes!  The perfect trifecta for party cocktails if you ask me.  I’m really excited to share this fall harvest sangria!  Such a great addition to holiday parties or gatherings like Halloween, Thanksgiving, or even Christmas.  Just add a few sprigs of fresh rosemary and extra cranberries for a gorgeous cocktail your family and friends will love!

I am in love with the combination of crisp apples, pears, oranges and cinnamon sticks all mixed together with my favorite white wine, fresh apple cider and a little caramel vodka.  I also topped mine off with some bright pomegranate seeds, but you could also use cranberries – I mean they’re just so pretty and add the perfect touch of tartness.  You can totally have fun with this recipe too!  Add a little cinnamon and sugar to the rim of each wine glass before serving and throw in an extra cinnamon stick to look like a cute straw.  Oh and if you like your sangria a bit sweeter, mix a little honey or agave in – everyone has different tastes!

This Fall Harvest Sangria is the perfect holiday cocktail filled with crisp apples, pears, cranberries, cinnamon sticks and fresh apple cider!

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • White wine – I prefer a crisp, dry white wine like sauvignon blanc or pinot grigio, but feel free to use whatever you enjoy drinking!  I have also made this with red wine and it tastes delicious
  • Fresh fruit – I used a combination of honeycrisp apples, pears, orange slices and pomegranate seeds
  • Apple cider – this adds that delicious apple flavor while sweetening the sangria so no additional sugar or sweetener is needed
  • Caramel vodka – makes this sangria taste like delicious caramel apple, but regular vodka will work or even a citrus or vanilla vodka
  • Club soda – adds a little pop to your sangria and any sparkling or seltzer water will work
  • Cinnamon sticks – is necessary to really bring out that fall flavor!

Which Wine Should I Use?

Whatever you personally like to drink, but try to stick with a dryer, crisp wine.  I used my favorite sauvignon blanc, but you could use pinot grigio or even a dry riesling if you like your sangria a bit sweeter.  I’ve made this with red wine too and it adds an even deeper flavor which tastes amazing.  You really can’t go wrong!  Another fun option is using a bottle of sparkling wine (because why not?!), but I topped the glasses off with a little bubbly club soda which adds a nice pop.  Just make to sure to add the club soda right before serving – this keeps it nice and fizzy!

How to Make Fall Harvest Sangria

The greatest thing about this festive cocktail is that it really only takes about 5 minutes to throw together!  Here’s how to easily make this sangria.

  1. Chop the fruit.  Chop the apples and pears then slice up the orange.
  2. Combine in a pitcher.  Add the fresh chopped fruit, pomegranate seeds and cinnamon sticks to a large pitcher.  Pour in the white wine, apple cider and caramel vodka and give a good stir.
  3. Let it marinate.  Place the pitcher of sangria in the fridge and let the flavors marinate for at least 3 hours and up to 6 hours.
  4. Serve and enjoy!  Fill wine glasses with ice and pour in the sangria.  Top with a little club soda for some added bubbly and enjoy!

What Kind of Apples to Use

Try using apples that are firmer, on the sweeter side and slightly tart.  Here are some great choices:

  • Honeycrisp
  • Gala
  • Pink lady
  • McIntosh
  • Fuji
  • Red delicious
