This sweet and spicy Cranberry Salsa makes the perfect holiday appetizer that is gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and can be easily made in just minutes!
You guys, this Holiday Cranberry Salsa is definitely a family favorite! My family usually ends up at my house the evening of Christmas Eve and rather than a big dinner (since we eat earlier in the day at my Grandma’s) I like to make a bunch of festive appetizers. This salsa is so fun to serve because you can display it with crackers and baguette slices like I did here and make it look like a wreath by adding some greenery or, my personal favorite, you can display it on a cheeseboard and top it on some brie!
Ingredients You’ll Need
- Fresh cranberries
- Jalapeños
- Green onions (you could use red onion too if you prefer)
- Cilantro
- Lime juice
- Sugar (I prefer this with regular sugar, but you could also use honey)
- Salt
I also like to add a little orange zest too to punch of the flavor, but this is totally optional. And yes, I did add sugar to this, but hey it’s the holidays, right?? I’ve tried substituting the sugar for honey and while it’s not bad, I just really prefer this salsa with regular sugar.
How to Make Cranberry Salsa
This really is super easy to throw together which is great when you’re short on time! I like to make this the morning of Christmas Eve and let all the flavors marinate before serving that evening. To make this you simply throw all your ingredients into a food processor and blend! Super quick, easy and tastes delicious! If you want this cranberry salsa less spicy, feel free to omit the jalapeños or just use one small one.
