Yay it’s that time again! Here’s my Secret Recipe Club post! This will be my second one and couldn’t be more excited to share it with you all. For those of you who don’t know what the Secret Recipe Club is, it’s basically where everyone is assigned a blog that month and you are to make any recipe of your choice from that designated blog. It’s that simple! The fun part is finding out who had your blog each month and seeing which recipe they chose to make.
So whose fabulous blog did I receive this month??
Yay! I was assigned Fat Girl Trapped in a Skinny Body! Julia’s blog was super fun to have as she had SOO many delicious recipes to choose from! No lie, the day I received my assignment I went to her blog and probably stalked looked through her blog all. day. long. Her recipes look delicious, her photos are beautiful and I really learned a lot about her as she shares fun videos of herself to answer questions anyone might have.
And yes, I’m super jealous of her skinniness *gag*
Haha I kid, I kid! Anyway, since Fall is now officially upon us and Halloween is right around the corner, I chose to make her delicious Pumpkin Butter that goes with, well…pretty much anything! This was super easy to make and yields plenty for jarring (IF you can limit yourself to just one serving). The end result?? My kitchen smelled AMAZING and I had a yummy breakfast (or snack) to look forward to each day after!
I’ve never made pumpkin butter, apple butter, really anything butter-related ever so I chose not to make any modifications to her recipe and enjoyed it as is. You won’t be disappointed, it really is wonderful and perfect for the Autumn season. Oh and I know what you’re thinking…”I thought you gave up sugar??” Yes well I’m only human and chose to make this recipe before I started my diet! So I enjoyed a little bit with some toast and gave the rest as gifts in cute jars to my family 🙂
Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan over medium/high heat and bring to a boil.
Once it reaches a boil, lower the heat to low/medium and simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring frequently.
Remove from heat and serve immediately OR store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Enjoy!

Yum, can’t wait to make this one! Thanks so much for posting this recipe! I love apple butter, but since Starbucks released their pumpkin spice latte I’ve been on a BIG pumpkin kick. -Stephanie http://www.crazyhealthylife.blogspot.com
That looks so good!!! We’ve had double-digits weather here in South Texas this September so Fall is a long time coming. I just might make this to trick myself in thinking it’s cooler outside.
I think it’s karma that you both have skinny in your name! Thank you for your perfect timing in making this pumpkin butter! It looks fantastic and will definitely become a fixture in our kitchen.
Added to my must make list. I have all of the ingredients on hand to try this. This is crave worthy. I was thinking the same thing Genelle said about the weather we’ve been having in South Texas. Great recipe.
Nice and will be a good spread for bread especially. I have seeing so many recipes with pumpkins since of late on foodbuzz, seems its such a fav among many.
I have never seen pumpkin butter before. How wonderful! I went over to her blog and definitely followed her on Twitter. Her blog looks like fun, thanks for introducing her to us!

I LOVE pumpkin butter! I had never made it until last fall (it was one of the first recipes on BFB) and I found out how delicious it is. It’s a nice change from apple butter too. Great SRC post!
OMG – never thought to make my own pumpkin butter, but now I have and you make it look SO easy. Great pick for the SRC. Glad to be part of the SRC, group C with you!
Hey girl! I just wanted you to know that I saw you on Tastespotting last week (it always makes me smile when someone acknowledges that they found me there;) ) and you inspired me to try my own version of pumpkin butter. I’d honestly never heard of it! Well, it came out fabulously and I had it all last week on some scones I baked! Thank you!!
I just made this tonight…and had to have some on a bagel, on some crackers..straight from the pan. Not gonna lie, I would make this just to have the smell in my kitchen again. Thanks for sharing, this was SUCH a good find for the pumpkin addict in me.
I put a spoonful of this pumpkin butter in my oatmeal every morning with either a peach or a banana sliced in it and some pecans! It makes a very delicious and filling breakfast. Thank you for sharing this recipe!
Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried making this with stevia to replace some or all of the sugar? I’d be curious to know how it turns out before I make a ginormous mess of what looks to be a delicious recipe…
