Celebrate Valentine’s Day with these delicious yogurt dipped ombré strawberries where we swap out chocolate for protein-packed Greek yogurt!

Yogurt Dipped Pink Ombre Strawberries for Valentine's Day! | Eat Yourself Skinny

Valentine’s Day is THIS weekend ladies so I thought it’d be fun to celebrate with a delicious dessert that is festive yet a much healthier option!  No these aren’t chocolate covered strawberries, but hey Greek yogurt can be just as great for dipping fruit, especially when colored in different shades of pink!  I’ve always been a fan of the ombre look so I was excited to dive into these little treats.

These yogurt dipped strawberries are perfect for a romantic night in with your man or even a pretty party with your girlfriends, but either way you serve them I promise you they taste crazy delicious……especially paired with your favorite champagne *wink*

These are actually much easier to make too than I had originally anticipated because dipping fruit in yogurt is WAY quicker than dipping in chocolate.  I don’t know about you and your dessert  making skills, but chocolate tends to clump really easily for me making it hard to coat the strawberries evenly which usually ends up looking more like a hot mess than a pretty dessert.  That and I’m horrible at decorating ANYTHING so yeah.  But yogurt on the other hand goes on really smooth which is perfect for this overall look.

And they are much better on your waistline so win-win!

So once you’ve dipped your strawberries, lay them out on a baking sheet and place them in the freezer for about an hour so they can set.  After that you’ll dip them again for a second coating which is super important – do not skip this step!  Yogurt tends to crack after being frozen so this ensures the strawberries are covered completely making them look super smooth and delicious.  Stick them back into the freezer for another hour or two until ready to serve then dive in!  The second coating is great too because it makes the strawberries much more creamier when biting into them.  I would also suggest using vanilla Greek yogurt for some added flavor too!

For those of you wondering, I used Wilton icing color in “Rose” to create this ombre look and you can see above how many drops I used for each shade.  Next time I’ll probably use a few extra drops in each bowl just to make the colors a little more bold, but you get the idea!

With Valentine’s Day falling on a Sunday this year, the hubby and I are actually going to enjoy a nice long brunch rather than a fancy night out which I’m actually looking forward to!  I mean nothing says ‘I LOVE YOU’ like champagne and a veggie omelette….am I right??

Have great Valentine’s Day Weekend babes! xo

Love this idea! I’m one of those rare crazy people out there who don’t enjoy the chocolate+fruit combo so I’ve never loved chocolate covered strawberries. I’ve never thought to use yogurt instead, so thank you so much! I can’t wait to make these for Valentines Day!
