So I recently had the incredible opportunity to attend the Signature Brands launch event that Safeway hosted in Los Angeles, California and boy did I JUMP at this chance!  Not only did I get to hang out with 25 amazing and talented bloggers, but if you follow me on Instagram then you’ll see that I also spent the day tasting all sorts of delicious Signature products and cooking with Tiffani Thiessen herself!

You guys I can’t begin tell you how incredible this new Signature line of products is that Albertsons Companies have recently come out with.  I mean we’re talking over 4,000 different items, everything from soups to fresh produce, coffee to juice, fresh baked bread and various pasta sauces, chicken and other quality meats, along with paper goods, laundry products and so much more!  Basically you can get all of your quality staple pantry items at super affordable prices!  The Signature family of brands includes 6 different categories – Signature Select, Signature Kitchens, Signature Farms, Signature Cafe, Signature Home and Signature Care.  Oh and I should probably mention that everything is 100% guaranteed or they will happily give you your money back!  Since I live in the DC area, I personally shop for all these products at my local Safeway, but you can also find them at ALL Albertsons grocery stores, including ACME, Vons, Pavilions, Randalls, Jewel-Osco, Tom Thumb, Shaws, Star Market, United Express, United and Carrs/Safeway.

So basically you can easily find these Signature products all over!

The event was held at this gorgeous private estate in the Hollywood Hills that was just full of fresh flowers, lemon trees and so much beautiful greenery.  We kicked things off with an outdoor avocado toast bar and enjoyed fresh orange juice and coffee from their Signature Select line.  I was amazed at the assortment of sugar-free creamers they offered such as Hazlenut, Caramel and Vanilla – yum!

Doesn’t this house look right out of the pages of a magazine?!  The light in every room was just stunning and I was not surprised to find out that the owner of this home is actually a well-known photographer, she sure has a beautiful eye for design!

After enjoying breakfast and mingling with everyone, we were invited inside for a fun cooking demonstration with Executive Chef Jeff Anderson of Albertsons Companies Culinary Kitchens.  Lemme tell you, this guy sure knows his stuff and just the first 5 minutes spent with him you can instantly tell how passionate he is about cooking!  Not only did he introduce us to all the delicious Signature Cafe soups such as tomato and basil bisque, white bean and kale soup, chunky chicken noodle soup, and my all-time FAVORITE, cauliflower and cheddar soup, but I was so inspired to use these soups in new and creative ways!  For example, I fell in love with the cauliflower and cheddar soup (seriously run out NOW and get this) so I might even make this into a yummy pasta sauce over zucchini noodles or even drizzle it over a baked potato!

Next Chef Jeff showed us how to make his delicious Signature Chicken Marinade and highlighted how you can really make this recipe your own by using your favorite flavor jam or mustard and how this pairs just as great with fish.  I immediately thought of fish tacos with a fresh fruit salsa OR an easy chicken crock pot recipe served over rice.  I’ve shared the recipe below!

Chef Jeff’s Signature Chicken Marinade
Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Signature Kitchens orange marmalade
  • 1-3 Tbsp Sriracha sauce (to your liking)
  • 1/2 cup Signature Kitchens soy sauce
  • 1 cup Signature Farms 100% orange juice
  • 2 Tbsp Signature Kitchens Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Whisk all the ingredients together and use immediately or refrigerate for later use.

Once Chef Jeff finished these demonstrations, we then followed him into the kitchen to make our own flatbread pizzas using fresh dough – made with Signature ingredients of course!  We all had a blast rolling out our dough and grilling up these delicious flatbreads, seriously the smell alone was incredible.  Plus can we just talk about how much fun it is to be cooking in a room full of food bloggers??  It’s just so much fun being around like-minded people that I can totally relate to!  I met ladies from all over the country and made some really great friends!

Here’s Lizzy from A Tasty Mess rolling out her dough with Chef Jeff.

We had a number of Signature seasonal toppings to choose from for our grilled flatbreads including tomato-basil pasta sauce, a creamy alfredo sauce, pesto, assortment of fresh grated cheeses, roasted butternut squash, sun dried tomatoes, roasted peppers and tomatoes, bacon, fresh arugula – you name it, they had it!  Plus when you get a bunch of food bloggers together making pizzas, you can bet they’re going to turn out beautiful!

We all enjoyed lunch al fresco at this gorgeous tablescape adorned with fresh succulents and surrounded by beautiful blooms.  We were in absolute heaven and I totally wish this was my backyard!

Isn’t everything just stunning?

We all enjoyed our lunch, chatted about blogging, life, kids, dogs, etc., snapped even more photos and just completely lived in the moment.  Chef Jeff even passed around three delicious salads that were topped with Signature ingredients such as fresh fruit, prosciutto, mozzarella, and even a spinach and tomato pasta salad!

Trust me we did NOT go hungry.

I sure loved meeting these gorgeous Chicago gals!  Here’s Lauren from Lake Shore Lady, Kit from The Kittchen and Jocelyn from Grandbaby Cakes.

This was about the time that Miss Tiffani Thiessen herself showed up to join us!  She sat and chatted with us about her cooking show Dinner at Tiffani’s on the Cooking Channel, life as a mom to two gorgeous babies as well as her years on my favorite 90’s TV show Saved by the Bell!  I was surprised to find how down-to-earth and normal she is, you know besides having her own personal stylist and make-up artist on hand to touch her right up 😉

Tiffani was super fun to talk to and I was really excited to hear that she is currently in the process of developing her very first cookbook which is scheduled to come out sometime next year.  She also shared with us that she actually owns 6 rescue chickens named Mable, Clementine, Scarlett, Molly, Dolly and Ruby, that her favorite recipe to make is her mom’s cream cheese pie, and that she’s still friends with Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris!) who will be a special guest on the finale episode of her show this season!  She also told us that the food they ate while filming scenes for Saved by the Bell at “The Max” was actually terrible and came from a 24-hour deli that was down the street from the studio.  It was fun getting the inside scoop!

Seriously if you haven’t seen her cooking show yet, this is a MUST.  Her recipes are all family-friendly (you know with the occasional cocktail or two), easy to make and perfect for entertaining.  Each episode also features a fun celebrity guest sooo you should totally check it out!

After lunching with Tiffani she brought us into the kitchen to make us all desserts!  First she showed us how she makes ice cream sandwiches and even demonstrated a little trick to easily getting the ice cream perfectly in-between the cookies.  Simply take a pint of your favorite flavor of ice cream (I chose the Signature Mint Chocolate Cookie Crunch!) and using a sharp knife slice one-inch sections and just place those on the cookies.  Voila – perfect sized portions every time!  She even dipped the edges of the ice cream into chopped nuts for added texture and flavor!

This is such a fun and easy dessert for a large group of people or even to make with your kids.  We used all sorts of different ice cream flavors that Signature Brands has to offer like vanilla, butter pecan, caramel carabou, java chip, chocolate moose tracks (um need I go on??) and paired them with the absolute softest chocolate chip cookies I have ever tasted from the Signature Select line.  I’m literally still swooning over those.

Next Tiffani made us delicious, easy-to-make ice cream coffee floats!  Yep I did say coffee.

After devouring different flavors of Signature ice cream and yummy chocolate chip cookies, we finished off the event in the backyard with Tiffani’s homemade peach infused sweet tea (this tasted incredible!!) and toasting to such a wonderful experience!

She was sweet enough to take the time to snap pics (and selfies!) with all of us and even swapped her sky high heels for some much-needed flip flops.  Girl I totally understand!  I must admit I was pretty star struck in the beginning as it was my first time even talking to a celebrity, let alone spending the day with them!, but by the end of everything she truly became just another relatable female with a love for life and passion for food.

Albertsons is all about creating those special moments with friends and family through delicious food and I must say that this trip was definitely my signature moment!  Thank you so much Albertsons for inviting me to be a part of such a wonderful experience!  I walked away with such a great perspective on how to really get creative in the kitchen and how using simple everyday ingredients can really enhance amazing dishes.

I also love that all these affordable Signature products are just so perfect for families, especially busy ones that need easy weeknight meals in a pinch!  I mean why pay more for a product when you can easily pay less and get the same, if not better, quality?!  These new Signature family of brands are also great for those who like to entertain large groups of people on a budget!  Not only do they make food prep super easy, but this new line offers tons of delicious pre-made options!

Be sure to check out all these Signature products and more at your local Albertson’s grocery store!
