Tomato Sauce
 
 
Serves: 8 servings
Ingredients
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1½ cups chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ cup dry red wine
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper
  • 1 (28 oz) cans crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
  • 2 bay leaves
Instructions
  1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion, bell pepper, oregano, and garlic; cook 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally.
  2. Add wine and remaining ingredients, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove bay leaves and serve with a dish of your choice. Enjoy!
