In case you haven’t noticed, smoothie bowls are ALL the rage these days.

Honestly if you’ve been on Instagram and Pinterest lately then I know you know what I’m talking about.  These gorgeous photos of all sorts of colorful deliciously looking smoothie bowls constantly fill up my feed and really almost look too pretty to eat!  Like I said….almost.  Let me be the first to just say that they are totally worth making!  The flavors of this tropical green smoothie bowl taste as if I should be lounging around on the beach somewhere with my toes in the sand and an umbrella in my drink.  And I don’t mind one single bit.

You guys these bowls are not only incredibly easy to throw together, but they taste really do taste as good as they look!  Literally.  I personally love making these for breakfast because they are the perfect guilt-free way to start off my mornings, plus who doesn’t want to wake up to a tropical oasis when they have the chance?!  I’ll serve them with a side of eggs or whole wheat toast and life is COMPLETE.

YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE THEM!

These smoothie bowls are also really customizable too which makes them so fun to make!  Basically there are 5 components to making the perfect smoothie bowl: fresh greens, frozen fruit, thickening protein, a liquid and fun toppings.  For this tropical green smoothie bowl I used a combination of frozen mango and pineapple chunks, Greek yogurt to make it nice and creamy along with coconut water, spinach leaves and a few mint leaves for delicious flavor.  Then I just topped it with my favorite fruit kiwi, some coconut flakes and chia seeds!  Other thickening proteins could be avocado, nut butters or even rolled oats and for the liquid feel free to try almond milk or even fruit juice – the possibilities are endless!

Next time I make this I’ll probably add some frozen banana slices along with a little almond milk, creamy peanut butter and a little cocoa powder.  I’m a total sucker for anything chocolate and refuse to apologize for it!

So is anyone else as excited for the Bachelor finale tonight as I am??  The previews sure look like intense, but when do they not haha.  I actually really like both the girls this time and would be happy if Ben picked either girl, but have a feeling he’s probably leaning more towards Lauren over JoJo – but hey I’ve been wrong before!  I personally think JoJo would make an awesome bachelorette (her or even Becca because I have a total girl crush on her!), so selfishly I hope Lauren wins!  I guess we shall see.

Hope you all enjoy this delicious smoothie and plan on seeing a lot more of these in the future.  I just have so much fun making (AND eating) them!
